PhD Candidates for International Students in Institute of Molecular Biology

Ten candidates of PhD will be funded by the Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB). The international students who are interested to pursue their PhD research in modern biology and related fields are invited to apply this program. There are two main topics of the PhD research, they are

• Epigenetics and Gene regulation
• Computational biology and omics

The purpose of the PhD positions is to invite many students in the world in employing their knowledge for academic developments. The PhD programs are coordinated with three institute of universities which have excellence in the field of life sciences. They are:

• Institute of Molecular Biology
• Johannes Gutenberg University
• Mainz's University Medical Centre
• Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research

The Institute of Molecular Biology is a state-of-the-art research centre funded by the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation. This foundation has been recognized worldwide for its concern in science particularly in pharmaceutical sciences. To be considered as the applicants, candidate must follow these criteria:

1. Creative and ambitious students in the field of chemistry, biology, and medicine
2. Able to work as a team which contains from many countries, so English and German skills of language is important
3. Candidates must have prior experiences in related field particularly in the research skills. They also at least have four years of experiences
4. Candidates must have big motivation to solve complex scientific problems
5. Communication skills is excellent as the part of working in the team

The selected candidates will be granted for:

• Working possibility in the one of the sophisticated research center and it will be accompanied by highly motivated research team
• Motivational research environment with multi-languages and wide range of discipline
• Advanced training opportunities
• 2 letters of reference from world-wide researchers

Important dates for summer call in 2017:
16 June 2017: Deadline for registration
23 June 2017: Deadline for application
18-20 Septembe 2017: Interview days at IMB
